How it can Begin

It was 12:30 at night, and I was on my way home from work (by way of the local watering hole). I drove my car along my usual route home, minding my own business and being careful to keep the speed under the legal limit. Suddenly, there was this annoying Blue light in my rear view mirror.
The officer pulled me over, and began a series of questions, which I felt obligated to answer. Then he told me to get out of the car. I had been drinking, but I was in control of my faculties. I had not violated any traffic laws, he just thought I looked suspicious.

 












Based on nothing more than an inoperative license plate light, I was pulled over, questioned in a forceful manner and asked to do various tasks which I am not sure I could do with out having had two beers, considering the late hour and how tired I felt. Nevertheless, I gave it my best shot· it wasn't good enough!

Knowing what to do and when to do it is critical in many areas of life. Nowhere is this better demonstrated then when encountering the police.

Police officers are employed by local municipalities to protect and serve the interests of their citizens and the community at large. It is easy for the "cop on the beat" to overstep his bounds and infringe on the rights of the very citizens he is hired to serve.
